The L.A. Weekly previews the anomaly that is...Turbonegro!

April 3 - Turbonegro at the Troubadour.

Slightly pompous hard rock by way of Tom of Finland. Except these self-styled "apocalypse dudes" hail from Norway. Whatever, it's all Scandinavian leather, as they'd say. The 'Negro are absolutely outrageous shock/shtick rockers (sample song titles: "Midnight NAMBLA," "Wipe It Til It Bleeds," "Rendezvous With Anus") who've made many a grown man weep: The Hives, Queens of the Stone Age and Ween are just a few of the bands reduced to jean-creaming schoolgirls in the presence of these make-up-wearing, sailor-capped guys. Keep an eye on the exits, as lead man Hank Von Helvete has been known to do things with firecrackers that would make both Ron Athey and Great White proud. (Sold out.)
