The Punk-O-Rama DVD scores four stars!
Punk O Rama: Volume 1 (Epitaph Records)
Epitaph's very first punk DVD and it doesn't disappoint. Lots of great music and bands on this disc. There's 22 music videos, and then there's a few extras on here giving a total running time of 2 hours and 10 minutes. Some of the bands on here are Rancid, Bad Religion, NOFX, The Offspring, Pennywise, Bouncing Souls, Descendants, Dropkick Murphys and more! Besides the music videos, I loved the "The Epitaph Story" special feature. It was informative, and at times, funny. When certain people were telling a story, there was these funny animated cartoons that describe the story to you and it was hilarious. Some of the people in the Epitaph story were the big boss man...Brett Gurewitz, Fletcher from Pennywise, Fat Mike, and a numerous employees of Epitaph retelling their encounters with Epitaph, and how they came on board with the label. PLUS, they got some live footage from Bouncing Souls & Bad Religion. And a humorous behind the scenes video of Pennywise making fun of themselves. Overall, great job with this DVD and I can't wait to see more because this was excellent!
