Propagandhi Release New Record 'Failed States' Today

Creating their most forward thinking and musically varied album to date, Propagandhi have released their highly anticipated sixth studio album, Failed States, today September 4th. Additionally, Propagandhi will kick off a North American tour in September with support from Comback Kid. Dates are listed below.

"I would say Failed States is a little less 'modern' sounding than Supporting Cast(e) in terms of sonics," says Hannah. " It's probably a more accurate portrayal of what we sound like in our jam sometimes feels like we haven't had a record that genuinely sounds like us playing in a room together since the mid-90s. I felt more surprised--in a good sense-- by Failed States when it was done than I did about Supporting Cast(e). We really liked how it managed to stay 'cinematic' while careening back and forth between our brazen metallic tendencies and our more ragged punk rock roots."

Failed States is not simply proof of Propagandhi's continued dedication to pushing their musical boundaries, but an evocative (and provocative) meditation on human nature, meaning and life under an expanding, planet-wide technocracy. Ranging from dynamic, progressive rock of "Note To Self" to the accelerated heaviness of "Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report)" and blazing thrash cuts like "Hadron Collision" and "Things I Like," Propagandhi has created a truly monumental sixth album.

9/10 - Absolute Punk

8/10 - Decibel Magazine

Propagandhi lob bombs of radical-humanist invective the way most bands deploy riffs. Which isn't to say that Hannah and his bandmates don't prize riffs; indeed, tightly coiled shredfests like "Cognitive Suicide" and "Devil's Creek" demonstrate how much they've grown up (without mellowing out) since their early-'90s skate-rat days - Revolver

On their Epitaph debut "Failed States," the Manitoba quartet are still as pissed off as ever, lobbing anti-authority grenades over some of the best thrash punk you'll hear this year. And with the 2012 election coming up soon, there isn't a better (or more important) time to spin the latest effort from Propagandhi. - Absolute Punk

Stay tuned to and to hear new music from Failed States and for news about Propagandhi!
