Converge assault the charts and announce new tour plans!

CONVERGE CLOBBER THE CHARTS WITH NO HEROES
Metalcore Pioneers Pull Down #1 Top New Artist Ranking

Converge – the iconic Boston-based pioneers of metalcore – have had a tremendous first week at retail with its new full-length album No Heroes, which dropped on October 24th via Epitaph. The disc debuted at #1 on Top New Artist (Heatseekers) ranking, and lists at #13 on the Indie Label survey. Hard Music, Alternative Music and Top 200 Albums chart placements are #17, #36 and #151 respectively.

Acclaim from the likes of Alternative Press, Decibel and Kerrang! accompanies the esteemed foursome, who have just embarked on the second leg of its U.S. trek with support act Some Girls.

“Converge play like sadists forcing their gear through table saws,” writes AP’s Aaron Burgess, adding “they’ve made it impossible for anyone else to eclipse them.” Meanwhile, Decibel calls No Heroes “their most balanced album yet” proclaiming, “Converge have fully returned to the aggressive sound they pioneered.” And Kerrang! championed the group as “the perfect antidote” to “singalong, chirpy, radio-friendly rock.”

Steeped in raw emotion, pure adrenaline and brute force, the follow up to 2004’s You Fail Me was produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou – who doubles as a producer and engineer – and counts explosive numbers like “Heartache,” “Hellbound” “Grim Heart Black Rose” and “Trophy Scars” among its fourteen tracks. As inventive as they are discordant, the cult group – which also counts bassist Nate Newton and drummer Ben Koller – has been touted by All Music Guide as “one of the most original and innovative bands to emerge from the punk underground.”
