Billy Bragg Releases Incendiary "Bush-War Blues" MP3 for free download!

Newly signed ANTI- artist, Billy Bragg has released a new provocative MP3 that is a commentary and attack on the Bush administration’s handling of the Iraq war situation.

Titled, “Bush War Blues,” the song is an adaptation of a 1938 Leadbelly recording titled “Bourgeois Blues,” which was penned by Leadbelly in response to the racism he had to endure on a trip to Washington D.C. to record with Alan Lomax.

Billy recently performed a boot stomping version of this song with Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Kelly Hogan, Jolie Holland, Tim Fite, Jon Rauhouse and Joe Henry at the Anti Hootenanny at SXSW. The track was recorded at Big Sky Recording in Ann Arbor on March 22nd and will offer up to the world as a free download.

Currently having his entire back catalog released by the Yep Roc label in both CD and box set formats, Billy Bragg will be working on a new full-length album that is set to be released on ANTI- sometime in 2007.

In the meantime, Bragg is finishing-up a small U.S. tour that spanned two weeks and included several memorable performances at the 2006 SxSw Music Festival.
