Motion City Soundrack's lead singer and guitarist Justin Pierre showed up at our L.A. studio recently with his signature vertical coif and dark-rimmed glasses, as he and the rest of MCS sat down to perform a few acoustic tracks off their third record, Even If It Kills Me.

"I definitely think that there's still a few sad and depressing moments," Pierre told PopEater of the album, produced by the impressive trifecta of Ric Ocasek, Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) and Eli Janney (Girls Against Boys). "But, for the most part, it's a pretty upbeat and kind of happy sounding record." Case in point: this live rendition of the band's second single, 'This Is for Real.'
