Lil Lotus Shares New Single “she’s a vampire”

For Los Angeles alternative artist Lil Lotus, life has largely felt like one giant nosebleed— constantly being drained by the people around him, solitude and his internal demons. Directly drawing upon that feeling, he has titled his sophomore album ‘Nosebleeder’, which is coming out on December 1 via Epitaph Records. Today he is showcasing his singular storytelling skills in cinematic new single from the record, “she’s a vampire”.

Featuring anxious pop-punk riffs and trap-leaning production from Matt Malpass (Blink 182, Travis Barker, MGK, nothing, nowhere.), Lotus delivers an emotive vocal performance in “she’s a vampire.” Accented with drawn-out vowels and a charismatic cadence, he confesses his undying love for his undead lover.

Loosely inspired by the Twilight series, Lil Lotus explains: “I wrote "She’s A Vampire” with this movie mentality of guy meets girl, girl's acting weird and he doesn't understand why, and she keeps dipping off to hang out with these people at night that are so important to her. She's actually meeting up with her coven to do vampire shit.” Watch the production video below!

On ‘Nosebleeder’, Lotus digs into emotionally aware songwriting that touches on themes of friendship, addiction, mental health, and toxic relationships. Blending diaristic lyrics, pop-punk melodies, and trap production throughout his genre-defying music career, with the new album Lotus hopes his experiences resonate with his listeners.  “I feel like a lot of songs are just me singing universally in the hope that somebody connects to the topics.”

Produced by Matt Malpass and Mike Pepe (Taking Back Sunday, Charlotte Sands), the follow up to 2021’s debut full length ‘ERRØR BØY’ finds Lotus linking up with featured collaborators across the sphere of alternative music, including Mod SunSophie PowersAlexis Munroe and kennedyxoxo. Now more than ever, Lil Lotus finds himself fully leaning into the influences that have always informed his sound.

After emerging in 2017 with his Body Bag EP with collaborations from GothBoiClique members Cold Hart and Nedarb, the creative has released multiple EPs (including 2020’s All My Little Scars 3-EP series) and over a dozen singles. Since the release of his debut record in 2021, his streaming footprint has grown immensely with current numbers of over 1.2 million per month and 83 million catalog streams to date. Possessing a distinct vocal style and unconventional ear, Lotus has been recognized by the likes of Lyrical LemonadeKerrang!BrooklynVeganAlternative PressApple Radio 1 with Travis Mills and more.
