Dropkick Murphys announce tour dates with Pogues and more!
As if headlining the 2005 Warped Tour 2005 wasn't enough to promote their acclaimed Warriors Code CD release, the DROPKICK MURPHYS are set to embark on their very own fall headline tour with a bunch of their hometown compatriots.
Dubbed the Boston Invasion Tour, dates kick off at the Marquee in Tempe, Arizona on October 10th and continue across the U.S. and into Canada through late November. On the eve of the Boston Invasion Tour the band will make a live appearance on September 30th as the musical guests on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
This years Boston Music Awards take place on September 28th at The Avalon Ballroom in Boston - where the band made Boston music history by breaking and setting a new all-time attendance record at that venue, with their popular mega sold out run of St. Patrick's week shows. The band has four (4) nominations this year in the following categories: "Act Of the Year," "Song of the Year" (for "Tessie"), "Punk Band of the year" and "Outstanding Pop/Rock Band of the year."
Speaking of "Tessie," it is definitely that time of year again, and the band's classic fall baseball anthem is prominently featured in the just released Farrely Brothers DVD of Fever Pitch. So for those of you who can't enough of the Red Sox, and who loved this movie, we ask what better time than for "Tessie" and The Dropkick Murphys to get everyone all fired up again!
