Germany's premier punks warm up London.

And so to the Germans, who frankly surpass all expectations tonight. The highlight of a set that seamlessly glides through ska, old school punk and post-hardcore is undoubtedly 'Let Me In', a ferocious track that gives the pit an excuse to beat each other senseless. The Chilled out 'Soothe Me', meanwhile, displays a more mellow and emotional side to the quartet's songwriting, and the fact that their own material manages to outshine their cover of The Clash's 'I Fought The Law', played in tribute to Joe Strummer, speaks volumes about The Beatsteaks' talent. Don't let jokes about mullets and the war stop you enjoying them.
