Alkaline Trio's New Album 'Damnesia' In Stores Today!

Enthralling dark rockers Alkaline Trio unleash their new album Damnesia today, July 12th and give fans a chance to stream the record in its entirety. The album is a selection of beloved fan favorites from the band’s extensive catalogue, presented in an intimate-semi-unplugged format. Also featured, is a cover of “I Held Her In My Arms” by indie rock pioneers The Violent Femmes and two new Alkaline Trio songs, “Olde English 800” and “I Remember A Rooftop.”

Damnesia channels the vibe of Nirvana’s Unplugged and takes it a step a further by incorporating keyboards and digital programing to keep their energy alive, while using various acoustic instruments like guitars, bass and piano that embrace the intimacy of an acoustic performance.

“We tried to make an "acoustic" record that was fun to listen to as well as dynamic, says frontman, Matt Skiba. “It was a lot of fun to re-visit some of the older numbers now that we are a better band than we were when we recorded them. We really got to play with them which was a blast. We hope everyone likes it as much as we do.”

In union with the album’s release, Alkaline Trio is presenting a brand new video clip for the reimagined acoustic version of their song “Clavicle.” The video offers candid behind the scenes footage of the trio in the Hurley Studios during the creation of Damnesia. In support of the new record, Alkaline Trio will be hitting the road to perform an assortment of songs from throughout their prolific career. The performances will feature both intimate acoustic renditions as well as a full volume electric portion. The band will be joined by punk crooners Smoking Popes for west coast dates and eclectic Philadelphia ensemble mewithoutyou on the east coast. Smoking Popes will also be performing in Chicago.

Alkaline Trio Starts Headlining Tour In Support Of New Album 'Damnesia'

Melodic dark rockers Alkaline Trio are set to release their brand new album entitled Damnesia this July 12th via Epitaph Records /Heart & Skull. In support of this stirring acoustic collection of fan favorites and new songs, the revered punk trio will be taking to the road to perform an assortment of treasured songs from throughout their prolific career. These performances will feature both intimate acoustic renditions as well as a full volume electric portion.

Alkaline Trio will be joined on the tour by the punk influenced crooners Smoking Popes who will open the west coast dates and eclectic Philadelphia ensemble mewithoutyou who will play the east coast shows. Smoking Popes will also be perform in their home city of Chicago.

Alkaline Trio To Release 'Damnesia' This July, 15th Anniversary Tour Announced

High energy melodic cult rockers Alkaline Trio will be releasing a brand new album entitled Damnesia this July 12th via Epitaph Records/Heart & Skull. The new record features a selection of beloved fan favorites selected from the group’s extensive catalogue and presented in an intimate-semi unplugged format. Also included will be a cover of the song “I Held Her In My Arms” by influential indie rock trio The Violent Femmes as well as two brand new Alkaline Trio songs entitled “Olde English 800” and “I Remember A Rooftop.”

Also, on sale this week are tickets for the first leg of the group’s special 15th anniversary tour which kicks off July 10th. The band plans to make the tour something special for fans. As singer/bassist Dan Andriano explains, “We’re looking forward to our 15th anniversary tour this summer. We’re going to really try to put together a set that encompasses everything the band has done over the past 15 years and plan to play some songs that rarely find their way in to the set list. We will also play some songs in an unplugged style similar to what we’ve recently recorded on Damnesia. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Since forming in Illinois, in 1996, Alkaline Trio has continued to amass a devoted cult following with their infectious punk hooks and darkly dramatic tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba, bassist/vocalist Dan Andriano and drummer Derek Grant, the band has created some of punk's most memorable songs with favorites like “Radio” from the 2000 album Maybe I’ll Catch Fire, “Mercy Me” from the 2005 album Crimson, “Blue In The Face” from 2003’s Good Mourning and “The American Scream” from 2010’s This Addiction.

Alkaline Trio Strip Down Fan-Favorites For New Album

In celebration of their 15th year as a band, high energy melodic cult rockers Alkaline Trio have announced they will enter the studio in late February to re-imagine and record a collection of songs from their celebrated catalog for a new album to be released this summer on Epitaph/Heart & Skull.

The threesome will be stripping down fan favorites from their coveted seven studio albums, which include Goddamnit, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, From Here to Infirmary, Good Mourning, Crimson, Agony & Irony and This Addiction, and re-recording the songs under new visions with the accompaniment of a variety of instruments at Hurley Studios in Costa Mesa, California. Additionally, the band will tantalize fans with new tracks as well, making this a must have for both old and new fans alike.

Known for well-crafted hook filled songwriting and poetic tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Alkaline Trio have amassed a diehard cult following around the globe in the last 15 years. Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba, bassist/vocalist Dan Andriano and drummer Derek Grant, the group has composed some of punk rock's most memorable songs with hits like "Nose Over Tail" from their 1998 debut Goddamnit, "Radio" from 2000's Maybe I'll Catch Fire, "Private Eye" from 2001's From here to Infirmary, "We've Had Enough" from 2003's Good Mourning, "Time to Waste" from 2005's Crimson, "Calling All Skeletons" from 2008's Agony & Irony and the title track from 2010's This Addiction among others. Alkaline Trio's 'This Addiction' Debuts At Career High Chart Position

Cult rock heroes Alkaline Trio have scored their highest charting position with the release of the acclaimed new album This Addiction, which debuts at #11 selling north of 25K copies in the first week. This is the band's first release on their newly formed label Heart & Skull and in partnership with Epitaph Records.

Called Alkaline Trio's "best album in years" by Los Angeles Times and "a vital, rousing, occasionally heartbreaking monument to punk-rock gumption that gives looking backward a good name" by Metromix, This Addiction has caught the ears of critics and fans around the globe with a valiant return to the band's punk rock roots.

The beloved Trio recently released a vibrant new video for their first single and title track and is scheduled to perform "This Addiction" on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on March 10 in support of the new album. Alkaline Trio 'This Addiction' In Stores Today

This Addiction, Alkaline Trio's seventh album and first through its new Heart & Skull label venture with Epitaph, is out today. The record's release has been preceded by the release of its title track as first single, which the band will perform March 10 on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Currently in the midst of a tour that has already sold out stops in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Philadelphia and a pair of homecoming shows in its native Chicago among others, the members of Alkaline Trio have somehow found the time to design a limited edition line for the Hurley clothing company. The very limited collaborative Hurley Alkaline Trio is now available here and will debut at retail March 1.
