Frank Turner Announces US Tour

Celebrated singer-songwriter Frank Turner is set to bring his rousing brand of literary folk punk to fans across North America in 2012. The charismatic young British troubadour will be performing with his band the Sleeping Souls in support of his acclaimed new album England Keep My Bones. Turner will first be joining Southern California rock ‘n’ roll rebels Social Distortion for a series of West Coast dates, before heading out with Celtic rock sensations The Dropkick Murphys.

Beloved up and coming British singer-songwriter Frank Turner performed on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Turner and his band the Sleeping Souls played a stirring and heartfelt rendition of his single “Peggy Sang The Blues.” Then host Jimmy Kimmel joined the band on harmonica for a raucous and inspirational version of Turner’s anthem “I Still Believe.”

Frank Turner Profiled in Spin's "Success" Issue

The rise of folk punk troubadour FRANK TURNER continues unabated in the wake of his masterful new album England Keep My Bones. The album has been a rousing success with critics and fans alike. TURNER was recently given an absolutely glowing profile in Spin Magazine’s “Success” issue.

An accompanying album review in Spin gives England Keep My Bones 9 out of a possible 10 stars, proclaiming, “FRANK TURNER gives sincerity a good name on the rousing England Keep My Bones, an exclamation point in an increasingly brilliant career that ranges from early post punk spew to more recent folkie testimony… FRANK TURNER vanquishes complacency.”

TURNER is currently on a triumphant tour of Europe with Iconic American rockers Social Distortion and will be playing the main stages at both the Reading and Leeds Festivals in August.

In September, FRANK TURNER will return stateside with a full band in tow to tour North America. His show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City sold out three months in advance. An additional show there on has now been added on November 3rd.

Rising English folk-punk star Frank Turner will be featured on the television show Last Call with Carson Daly this Friday night May 20th. The episode will feature a recent May 6th performance at Los Angeles club The Hotel Café, complete with witty in between song banter and rousing fan sing-alongs with tracks from Turner’s highly anticipated new album England Keep My Bones which arrives in stores on June 7th.

Frank Turner Premieres Video For "Peggy Sang The Blues"

Celebrated singer-songwriter Frank Turner has just released a video for the first single from his anticipated new album England Keep My Bones which will arrive in stores this June 7th via Epitaph/Xtra Mile.

The clip is for the song “Peggy Sang The Blues,” already a fan favorite in concert, and features the charismatic Turner on a sound stage with his band performing the rousing tribute to the card playing whiskey drinking non conformist grandmother who inspired him.

The track features the dually inspiring and cautionary chorus of “It doesn’t matter where you come from, it matters where you go. No one gets remembered, for the things they didn't do.” Turner recently explained to Spin "One of the things I don't like about English culture is our obsession with people's backgrounds. I believe life is what you make of it as an individual." He also reflected on the subject of the song, Peggy, "She was totally awesome. She got me drinking whiskey and playing poker at age 10. She passed away a long time back but I think of her often."

Frank Turner Featured On Public Radio International's "The World"

Rising English folk-punk practitioner FRANK TURNER was featured on the popular radio show PRI’s “The World” last week as eyes across the globe turned towards the unabashed pageantry of the royal wedding. TURNER, who was recently described by BBC1 Radio as“a guy with a guitar slung over his back who can command venues from living rooms to huge concert halls,” served as something of amusical (and otherwise) counterpoint to the show’s extensive royal coverage.

Host Marco Werman sat down with a decidedly well informed and self effacing TURNER to discuss being a self proclaimed “history geek,” his relentless touring schedule, a personal apathy towards the royals, and the stirring new songs on Turner’s much anticipated album England Keep My Bones which comes out June 7th.
