I Set My Friends On Fire Release New Video For "It Comes Naturally"

Celebrated experimental rockers I Set My Friends On Fire have unleashed a captivating new video for the track “It Comes Naturally” from their latest album Astral Rejection released June 21st on Epitaph Records. The band, which consists of vocalist Matt Mehana, drummer/keyboardist, Chris Lent and longtime collaborator, Travis Richter— have crafted a metallic masterpiece with Astral Rejection, achieving a degree of sonic experimentation without ever losing the unique sound their growing number of fans have come to appreciate.

The Winnipeg Sun called the group “masters of mayhem” and described Astral Rejection as a “multi-headed monstrosity of monumental proportion. With metal shredding, post hardcore thrashing, synth-pop crooning and electronic knobtwiddling all slamming up against each other in a sonic cage match.”

The record’s second single “It Comes Naturally” is a cathartic slab of syncopated progressive metal interlaced with ultra modern pop choruses. The comedic science fiction-esque video for the song was shot on the streets of Los Angeles in partnership with friend, band co-founder and ex-member Nabil Moo.

“Matt and Chris approached me with a concept for a music video and asked me if I would be interested in shooting it,” Moo explains. “We wanted to pay homage to many of our favorite eighties movies, most notably ‘Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure,’ while also keeping in line with the band's unique sense of humor. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I hope that fans of ISMFOF will enjoy the quirky and unusual nature of the video, as well as the band's trip through the wormhole.”

Miami's experimental rock band I Set My Friends On Fire continue to pave their own path with the release of their riveting sophomore album, Astral Rejection, on June 21st via Epitaph Records. Fans are invited to preorder the new album starting today at www.epitaphstore.com.

ISMFOF’s second full-length expands their musical palette on this follow-up to their 2007 debut, You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter to create a unique album that teems chaotic moments, brutal breakdowns, electronica interludes and melodic choruses. The band—vocalist Matt Mehana, drummer/keyboardist, Chris Lent and longtime collaborator, Travis Richter—have crafted a metallic masterpiece with Astral Rejection and raised the bar for sonic innovation and experimentation without sacrificing an ounce of the identity that has already endeared ISMFOF to fans all over the world.

“This time around it felt like we were actually writing a record rather than writing in pieces,” Mehana responds when asked about the recording process. “It was definitely a new kind of experience because we were writing music that was unlike anything we’d heard before, but that’s been our goal in this band all along… to push the envelope and create something new.”

Band Teams Up With SMOSH.com To Create Internet Phenomenon "Sex Ed Rocks"

Miami's experimental electro-grind duo I Set My Friends On Fire have done it again. The twosome have teamed up with the widely popular sketch comedy site Smosh.com to create the web phenomenon "Sex Ed Rocks," a hilarious new song and video about the importance of safe sex. Co-written by I Set My Friends On Fire and Smosh, "Sex Ed Rocks" was posted on Youtube.com on Friday, November 21st and is already the #1 most viewed (778,134), rated, discussed (17,719 comments) and favorited video on the entire site. I Set My Friends On Fire know a thing or two about creating a splash across the web. The band made waves in 2007 with their grindcore version of Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat," which has garnered over 9 million listens to date on their Myspace page, and is featured on their recently released debut album, You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter, out on Epitaph Records.
