Pop Rock Heartthrobs Launch New Album & Tour On June 23

June 16, 2009 – Los Angeles, CA – Irresistible pop rockers The Higher will kick off a US tour on June 23 which coincides with the release of their brand new album, It’s Only Natural. Beginning in Tucson and ending in Dallas, the band will be winning fans and melting hearts across the country with their signature blend of pop, rock and hip shaking R&B.

The Higher have definitely found their groove on sophomore effort, It’s Only Natural, with twelve tracks that positively exude youthful hormones and summer romance for an infectious and sexy album that includes songs like the irresistibly dancey “It’s Only Natural,” the pool-side party anthem “Undertaker” and a seductive cover of Ne-Yo’s “Closer,” which will be wearing grooves on dance floors and backseats alike. Pop Rock Heartthrobs Announce New Album and Release Cover of  Ne-Yo's Hit Song "Closer"

Deftly combining pop, rock and R&B, The Higher return to melt hearts this summer with the release of their sophomore album, It's Only Natural, out on June 23 via Epitaph.

Produced by Mike Green (Paramore, The Matches), It's Only Natural features twelve tracks that ooze hormones and heartbreak for a fun, sexy album that's filled with songs like the irresistibly dancey "It's Only Natural," the pool-side anthem "Undertaker" and a seductive cover of Ne-Yo's "Closer," (available for stream here) which will be wearing grooves from dance floors to backseats all summer long. Prepare to fall in love with Vegas' hottest attraction.

"I'm really excited for the release of this record," says exuberant frontman Seth Trotter. "It's gonna incorporate the same R&B/Pop vibe that The Higher always bring, and it also brings back some of the guitar and rock that the old Higher fans might miss. It's the kind of record that has songs that everyone will enjoy, no matter what kind of music you listen to."

The Higher's patented blend of unabashed pop with a life-long love of rock translates best in their suave, non-stop live show that keeps the crowds moving. The band will make hearts swoon all summer long with It's Only Natural, but fans can get a taste of what's to come on their mini-tour come May.

The Higher Enter the Studio with Mike Green

With boy-band good looks and unabashed pop sensibilities, the Higher won a legion of fans who like to dance on their acclaimed debut Histronics. The Las Vegas quartet's follow-up (and Epitaph debut) On Fire upped the pop/rock ante, as the Higher crafted a catchy, contagious homage to hormones and heartbreak.

After a year and a half of non-stop touring across the US with the likes of Motion City Soundtrack and Sherwood, as well as their first shows in the UK and some Higher-mania in Japan, the band has entered the studio with On Fire producer Mike Green (Paramore, the Matches).

Enthused about the new record, and addressing the departure of guitar player Tom Oakes last February, bass player Jason "Face" Centeno writes, "Danger! Danger! The Snake, Face, Reggie boo and Doug Fresh have reunited (and it feels so good!) with All Star Producer Mike "Grizzly Silk" Green and the new tunes are better than ever. The hit makers aren't going anywhere. The Higher will always be the Higher as long as Seth and I are breathing and best friends. It's safe to say that we are better than ever, not only as artists but as a cohesive songwriting unit. Lyrically this record is emotional and logical. Seth and I are writing short stories mixed with grooves that will brand your bones."

As soon as the band finishes in the studio, they depart for back-to-back tours, first with Just Surrender, White Tie Affair and The Morning Of from October 11th - November 2nd, followed by a run with Ludo, Eye Alaska and Army Of Freshman starting November 3rd.

Scheduled for release early next year, the yet-untitled third record from the Higher promises a whole new glimpse into the band's completely unique take on pop, emo and R&B.

We are pleased to announce we have a new drummer. Doug McCarthy is the newest member of the group and will be on tour with us for our upcoming run in the US with Daphne Loves Derby and This Providence, as well as our first trip to Japan in November. Las Vegas-based pop charmers The Higher continue to excite fans and support their Epitaph debut On Fire with their fifth pass through the US this fall. Sharing the stage with Washington indie rockers Daphne Loves Derby and emo darlings This Providence, the Higher's tour engagement gets underway in Chicago on October 20th.

Known for their R&B-infused emo/pop sensibility, countless hooks, hormone-laden lyrics and boy band good looks, the Higher have been winning fans around the world with their electrifying live shows and relentless touring schedule.
