MESSAGE FROM THE BAND:

We are pleased to announce we have a new drummer. Doug McCarthy is the newest member of the group and will be on tour with us for our upcoming run in the US with Daphne Loves Derby and This Providence, as well as our first trip to Japan in November. We would like to thank all who tried out and those who expressed interest in playing with us. We also would like to thank our fans for the support and understanding during this transition period. We have posted a Live EP on absolutepunk.net for FREE download for all of you to enjoy. One Love.

The Higher Continue To Ignite The US In Support Of ON FIRE

Las Vegas-based pop charmers The Higher continue to excite fans and support their Epitaph debut On Fire with their fifth pass through the US this fall. Sharing the stage with Washington indie rockers Daphne Loves Derby and emo darlings This Providence, the Higher's tour engagement gets underway in Chicago on October 20th.

Known for their R&B-infused emo/pop sensibility, countless hooks, hormone-laden lyrics and boy band good looks, the Higher have been winning fans around the world with their electrifying live shows and relentless touring schedule. After completing the 2007 Epitaph Tour with label-mates Escape the Fate and the Matches, the Higher went on the road with Halifax and most recently completed the high-profile tour with emo favorites Motion City Soundtrack.

Pop-rock group The Higher is currently taking part in Virgin Mobile's "Book the Band" competition, where the winning band will open the 2007 Virgin Festival (featuring The Police, Smashing Pumpkins and Beastie Boys among others) in front of thousands of people at Baltimore's Pimlico Race Course on Saturday, August 4th. Fans of The Higher can vote for the band at www.virginfestival.com/2007/booktheband.html or text "HIGHER" to 68710 (standard text messaging rates apply).

Since the release of the their album On Fire in March, The Higher have exploded on all fronts with a smoking hot video for their single "Insurance?" playing regularly on MTVU and FUSE, a leading position in AOL's "Breakers" competition (http://music.aol.com/franchise/breakers/?cat=4) and a recent appearance on FUSE's "The Sauce."

In addition to the group's recent successes, The Higher have announced they will be hitting the road with Motion City Soundtrack in July for a month long US tour.
