International heavy music juggernauts, Parkway Drive have released a brand new video for their monumental track, "Wild Eyes" from their chart topping album, ATLAS. A follow up to their wildly successful video "Dark Days" which has over 3.6 million views and precludes the new video, "Wild Eyes" depicts the dismal future of the world in a post-apocalyptic live show setting.

"This video basically continues on where 'Dark Days' left off," says drummer Ben Gordon who notes that both videos were the concept of director Aaron Hymes. "Dark Days' was commentary on present day and showed the worlds state of environmental Crisis. 'Wild Eyes' is set in the near future, after the World has been destroyed by man."

Gordon goes on to say, "the lyrical concept of 'Wild Eyes' deals with inevitable the end of the world and the impact of our actions so we ran with that idea pretty literally, taking inspiration from post apocalyptic images portrayed through films over the years. We are all stoked on this video!"

Parkway Drive have retained the classic elements of their magnificently heavy sound while broadening their horizons with new textures and dynamics. Lyrically, the band has turned a page in what is considered to be their most in - depth and advanced album to date. Front-man Winston McCall draws from the bands experience as one of the most heavily traveled acts on the planet, reaching remote destinations far beyond the everyday touring locations such as Calcutta and Bali, Indonesia.

"The album was written at a time the band was travelling very extensively which had a major effect on the lyrics," says McCall. "While there is no overarching theme, the songs resonate with the travels we as a band have made, and the effects they have had. This has lead to some of the harshest, and also some of the most personal lyrical content that we've ever put to music. In every way, this record has been shaped by the experiences that shaped us a people."

Commenting on the delicate landscape of the Earth’s current environment in “Old Ghost / New Regrets,” McCall growls, “Precious heritage laid waste before the chainsaws snarling teeth, bleed the Earth, bleed her ‘til her heart no longer beats,” between the ever so heavy metal riffs and bone-crushing drum fills that will not only have fans listening intently to the intricate and technical elements of the song, but will also have hardcore devotees and metal maniacs running to the pit.

Recorded in Los Angeles with esteemed producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, etc.), the soon-to-be-released Atlas sets the standard in musical progression by pushing musical boundaries and drawing from a wider scope of influence. “Reading the lyrics to Atlas after watching the DVD... I think you will have more of a sense of where we are coming from,” McCall reveals. “The album is called Atlas because it’s a combination of the travelling we’ve done over the past year, while also playing on the idea of Atlas, who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders.”

When asked if he feels as though he and the band are anything like the mythological Greek titan, bearing the weight of the world on their shoulders, McCall replies: “I think everybody feels that way at one time or another. It’s a heavy place to live, and it’s a heavy time to be alive. Some people watch the DVD and go, ‘Man, it makes me jealous of your life.’ But I think with every expanse of your horizon, you go into another bubble of society where you are able to see that others in the world aren't doing so good. It’s one of those things...the more your horizon expands, the more negative things you see. For that reason there is a lot of stuff on this record that is more confrontational than anything we’ve written in the past.”

Parkway Drive are currently bunkered down in a Los Angeles studio hard at work on their fourth album.The as-yet-untitled effort is the follow-up to 2010’s phenomenally successful Deep Blue, which debuted #39 in the US on the Billboard 200, #2 in Australia, as well as reaching solid Gold and winning the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock and Metal Album. The recording is due to take seven weeks, which is the longest time the band has spent on any album. Production is being overseen by Matt Hyde, whose vast resume includes Slayer, Sum 41, Alkaline Trio, Hatebreed and Children of Bodom.

Parkway Drive vocalist Winston McCall says new material flowed easily in the wake of Deep Blue, which saw the group tap a rich vein of creativity.

“When we finished Deep Blue I was like, ‘I don’t know where we go from here?’ But if there was ever a way to step up from the last record, this is the way to do it,” McCall says. “We’re expanding in every way we can. But at the same time – and I say this with every new record – it still sounds like Parkway.”

The band's new DVD was shot in 42 countries on 5 continents. The 75-minute “Home Is For The Heartless” DVD is both a rare travelogue and an in-depth look at Parkway Drive on stage and off. In addition to footage of some of the craziest shows the band has ever played, it also captures some of their greatest adventures and most poignant shared moments. Traveling to many obscure destinations, including some third-world cities that had never been visited by an international heavy band, Parkway Drive embrace the local peoples and cultures as a vital part of their experience.

Parkway Drive Announce 2012 European Fall Dates

Australia’s top metal/hardcore band Parkway Drive will return to mainland Europe and the UK this November for what will be the bands biggest headline shows to date in this territory. Starting in The Netherlands on November 13th, this tour will take the band through 10 different countries, rounding it up in Germany on December 1st.

Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall had the following to say about the upcoming tour: "What's not to love about touring Europe?! “ We're so stoked to be coming back, after an intense period of writing. We've got some great bands coming with us, a stack of new tunes, and you're going to see Parkway on stage like you've never seen us before."

Parkway Drive Release New Video For "Unrest"

Australian hardcore heroes Parkway Drive are about to unleash an exhilarating sonic assault upon the kids of North America. The festivities begins with the premiere of the band’s new video for their magnificently brutal song “Unrest” which features the energetic five piece from Byron Bay delivering their ferocious metal mayhem in front of a massive churning stage diving crowd. The whole affair reaches a sonic and visual crescendo when Parkway Drive dispenses one of the heaviest breakdowns imaginable.

The song "Unrest" is from the band’s latest metal-core masterpiece Deep Blue, of which the Winnipeg Sun awarded three and a half stars and remarked, “Surrender and worship are your only two options.”
