THE BLACKOUT SIGN TO EPITAPH RECORDS

The Best In Town in Stores June 23rd - Warped Tour Dates Confirmed

Young UK band The Blackout found a home of like-minded individuals when they signed with Epitaph, joining a roster of influential artists that include Escape the Fate, Bring Me The Horizon, Story of the Year, New Found Glory and more.

"The Blackout have delivered an amazing record" states Epitaph president and owner Brett Gurewitz, "and they fit perfectly alongside many of our bands. I'm thrilled to have them on the label."

Sean Smith (vocals) had this to say: "The band are over the moon to be on Epitaph. It's an honor for us to be asked by them. We were offered billions of pounds by other labels but we knew Epitaph was the label for us. We love their ethics and we are also fans of many of the records they have put out. Epitaph is our new home and it feels warm and cozy".

Epitaph will release the band's second album The Best In Town on May 25th 2009 in Europe and June 23rd 2009 in the US, just a few days before the band embarks on the Warped Tour.

The Blackout's first record We Are The Dynamite came out late 2007 on indie label Fierce Panda and was followed by a phenomenal year of sold out headlining tours in Japan, Europe and the US, including selling out the Astoria in England, a notable feat for such a new band. They toured relentlessly proving themselves to be one of the hardest working bands in the UK.

The Blackout have an upcoming show at one of England's most historic venues - the Royal Albert Hall in London - to benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust on March 28th alongside Bullet For My Valentine.
