Suicide Girls DVD gets another killer review!
October 17, 2005 - "I don't know how to explain it; It's not dancing... 'cause we all kinda suck at dancing."
- Reagan (Suicide Girl)
We were having a hard time deciding how to start this feature. The Suicide Girls themselves are rather difficult to describe; their live show, moreso. And we're of the school that says, when describing a DVD, it helps to understand the subject matter portrayed in said DVD. Crazy us. So maybe we should just leave the subject matter at that: like dancing, but not quite.
Or, we could spout off a list of other activities to be found at a live Suicide Girls show. Begin with a sort of neo-burlesque mishmash with some outright stripping thrown in. Props are frequently used. Add in a healthy helping of the following: strutting, pacing, beer drinking, nipple-taping, beer spitting, the pouring of beer over one's breasts, etc. girls kissing girls, whips, g-strings, different flavors of syrup, whipped cream, leather, hula hoops (naturally), a degree of S&M (which complements the hula hoops nicely).
And let's not forget that thing which resembles dancing. To find out more about the girls themselves, you'll have to check out suicidegirls.com. We like the girls a lot, and the DVD interviews were interesting; We just don't have the energy to explain; you can do your own research.
So that's a bit of their show for ya. Consult the screen caps for further details, and keep in mind most of it was too risque for us to even show you. As this is a DVD of the SG's first tour, it compiles footage from a variety of their shows all across the country. Sound like fun? It is. Now add in a big chunk of behind-the-scenes video footage from the girls' photoshoots, a series of interviews, and other bits of random documentary shot with a variety of equipment, and you get a painstakingly cut, multi-colored gem of enjoyment.
