Error scores 4 1/2 stars from MusicEmissions.com!
If there was to be a band to bring back the heyday of industrial music, it just might be Error. There is a bit of a story behind Error too. The whole idea was Atticus Ross'. He is the one behind 12 Rounds and Tapeworm as well as contributing to Nine Inch Nails and Rage Against The Machine projects. Enter Brett Gurewitz. Yup, that Brett, the one behind Epitaph and Bad Religion. Curious yet? Now, let's throw in the lead vocalist of Dillinger Escape Plan, Gregg Puciato into the mix and you have a fucking heavy mix of punk and industrial like you have never heard before. Atticus' programming is ingenious and the vocals by Gregg are razor sharp. This EP starts out with the blistering "Nothing's Working" with Gregg spitting out lyrics with an industrial background like you have never heard before. Brett did most of the writing on this EP and he had this to say about it: "It was cathartic for me to write these songs because I'm not allowed to be nihilistic in Bad Religion". "Jack The Ripper" and "Brains Out" are the two coolest tracks on the EP but the whole thing lends itself to an achingly beautiful display of industrial music for the next millenium. The 5 tracks are over in 17 minutes and leaves me wanting so much more. Hopefully an Error full-length is in the cards for later this year but I haven't heard.
