MILLENCOLIN REV THEIR ENGINE ON NEW ALBUM MACHINE 15

Swedish Punk Rock Group Will Release Seventh Studio Album In May
Revered Swedish punk rock outfit Millencolin are back with Machine 15 - their first record in three years and the follow up to 2005's Kingwood. The album will be released on May 6th, through Epitaph Records.

With an impressive string of releases behind them, nearly two million records sold worldwide and having shared stages with the likes of Blink 182, the Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age, the Orebro based quartet of vocalist/bassist Nikola Sarcevic, guitarists Erik Ohlsson and Mathias Farm and drummer Fredrik Larzon show that they are on top of their game.

While upholding the classic Millencolin sound, they chose to diversify, evolve and progress on the new album. The explosive result is pop infused punk at its all-time best with driving beats, anthemic choruses and irresistible melodies that prove the band is back to kick ass and take name...

Millencolin set out to write good songs, not NOFX covers, ya know? They weren't trying to write a "punk" record, they were trying to write a Millencolin record. And I'd say that this record is total Millencolin. It's straight from the heart - if they wrote "Farewell My Hell" over again, it wouldn't be full blown Millencolin - which is what this is.

Great Album

I've been seeing bad reviews on this album lately. I disagree with all of them. I know many Millencolin fans are total punk fans. Machine 15 shows a new style for Millencolin, and it doesn't please many fans. But, while my first reaction was "...THIS is Millencolin?" I love this album.

If you still prefer their skate-punk style, stick with Life On A Plate, For Monkeys, Kingwood, and of course, Pennybridge. But if you like to hear a new style once in a while, definitely get this album.

Awesome

I think this album is awesome. It is a little differant than some of their older stuff, and I definately like their older stuff, but this is really good. It is Much better, in my opinion, than Kingwood. Also, the DVD of them at Stockholm is great. They sound really good, but they don't play any new songs (its from 2003).
*The reason I can say my opinion on the album is because I won the Millencolin Countdown Competiton (www.burningheart.com/countdown), so I already got the CD.*
