Unsound Vol. 1
Unsound

After ten years and as many releases, the Punk-O-Rama compilation series is being retired and replaced by the new Epitaph compilation series, UNSOUND! Always the trendsetter, Epitaph was the first label to produce a low-priced punk rock compilation, and after a decade, Punk-O-Rama is the longest running comp of its kind. UNSOUND VOL. 1 picks up where Punk-O-Rama left off, continuing to highlight the best of Epitaph?s landmark bands while introducing the most stellar emerging talent in the scene. With a whole new look and an assemblage of today?s best bands, UNSOUND promises to become an instant classic.

UNSOUND plays like a favorite mixtape with a great variety of the kind of music you love from emo, hardcore and punk, to indie and underground hip-hop, with each song flowing seamlessly from one mood to the next, it?s the perfect soundtrack for the summer of 2006.

Right first off what the hell, its a CD and you can see what bands are on the back, if you dont like the bands dont buy it, isnt that simple. If your looking at it too find new bands, dont be so narrow minded that if its not punk it aint good, just get over it!! Epitaph is a fantastic record label which has changed with the times, like most things do with time!!

UP THE PUNX!!!!!1 ;)

I love to see Punks show their uproar to a compalation on the net. If they really want to speak up about something why don't they just become the next punk band on the block, perhaps? I'm a fan of BR and plenty old school punk stuff but I also like much of the stuff Epitaph have recently (such as The Matches), even if you don't like it think about this; it funds new signings and albums. A great example of this is Gallows, if they aren't punk in the mentality then I don't know what is.

Heard it, but will never...

Where did it go wrong? Oh wait, it was sage francis and every other rap outfit that got attached to Epitaph. At least Fat Wreck chords kinda has some consistency going.
are all the originals coming back for a reunion tour?

One long rant 3/3

Although I doubt I will buy this CD, I am not going to slate a CD because of the type of music on it, If you don’t like “Emo” or any of the other labels then don’t buy it! It’s as simple as that.

The only thing that Epitaph has done wrong is the censorship. Surely the artist has the right to have its song played in its entirety, if your scared bad language will lose your sales, your selling to the wrong people.

Fuck censorship

One long rant 2/3

Now don’t get me wrong I am disappointed that the Punk’o’Rama series has come to an end, but every dog has its day. Punk rock will never die and great bands from previous POR’s will always live on as classics, but times change and as music changes so do the new acts. I am pleased that Epitaph have re-named the series to Unsound, it does exactly what it says on the tin, with no claims on being “punk”.
